Glimpses of Bali

Puri Saren Agung is the place where Ubud's long tradition of home stays all began, more than 80 years ago, when Bali first started to attract bohemian artists from around the world. Renting one of five traditional stone bungalows in the sumptuous royal courtyard is still quite an experience, and every night the palace comes alive with the sound of Gamelan music as Balinese dances are performed just across the wall from Puri Saren Agung.

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. It is also known as the Ubud Monkey Forest. The Sanctuary is home to over 1260 long-tailed macaques, who are considered sacred by the local Balinese people.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace comprises a series of cascading rice fields. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the area is especially popular during sunrise and sunset. Take your time to explore the terraces, visit the nearby Bali Pulina plantation, and have a go on the mountain-edge swings. To see the fields at their greenest, visit in March, August or September. They're also green in December and February but are slippery due to the rainy season. The rice terrace is commonly visited on a tour of Ubud which includes other places of interest like the Monkey Forest, Tegenugan Waterfall, and Tirta Empul Temple.

Goa Gajah Temple, also known as Elephant Cave Ubud-Bali, is located in Bedulu village, Gianyar, Bali. It is about 15 minutes drive from Ubud center.

Mount Batur is an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung Bali. The south east side of the larger 10×13 km caldera contains a caldera lake. The inner 7.5-kilometer-wide caldera, which was formed during emplacement of the Bali, has been dated at about 23,670 and 28,500 years ago. Many Travelers visit to this place to enjoy the view and make the climb

Endless fields of green, as far as the eyes can see, no wonder people fall in love with the rice fields in Ubud. Rice fields can be found simply everywhere in Bali, in the back streets of Canggu, along highways to the North of Bali and along narrow pathways in Ubud. The truth is, you really don’t have to look very far, however, some rice fields are just more impressive than others.
